Syrian Updates

In Syria, the Western-instigated civil war has devastated Syria. Over 200,000 human beings have died as a product of the vicious civil war. President Obama has aided the rebels to fight ISIS. Many of these rebels are terrorists. We know that the U.S. had funded radical jihadists in the region for years and decades. General Lloyd J. Austin III is the head of the United States Central Command. He admitted to the Senate’s Armed Services Committee that the 500 million dollar program to train 5,000 so-called “moderate” rebels in Syria only resulted in the training of a few dozen people. We know that for a long time, the west want to destabilize Syria, so Assad is gone and a puppet regime is in its place. This has been admitted by former General Wesley Clark as Clark said that Syria on a hit list of government targets slated for a military intervention. Much of the Arab Spring actions in Syria have been aided by NGOs and Western backed organizations. Even WikiLeaks confirmed that that the U.S. spent 12 million dollars (from 2006 to 2010) in order to support and instigate demonstrations and propaganda against the Syrian government. This has been revealed by over 7,000 secret diplomatic cables. The CIA has given arms to Syrian opposition groups, and many of these groups are outright terrorists. We know that the CIA supports Al Nusra. Al Nusra is a jihadist organization that has committed countless atrocities. This group is affiliated with al-Qaeda. Al Nusra has been described as the terrorist arm of the Free Syria Army or the FSA. With all of this war mongering executed by the Obama administration in Syria, Libya, etc., the extremist Republicans in Congress feel that the President isn’t going far enough. Many Republicans oppose the Iran nuclear accord, because they want Iran to suffer even more.  Yet, Iranians collectively should not be blamed for the totality of the crisis in the Middle East. Iran doesn't have a nuclear weapon at all. There are thousands of Iranian Quds forces in Syria. They are fighting ISIS. So, there is an alliance between Iran, Russia, and Syria. Also, Russia has been using Iraqi airspace. Now, Assad isn’t perfect. Assad has issues of democratic rights, but I rather have Assad control Syria temporarily than ISIS control Syria permanently. We have to look at foreign policy realistically. Only the Syrian citizens, not America, not France, and not the UK, should decide Syria’s political future.

Turkey has overly joined the U.S. war in Syria by July of 2015. Turkey has always been an ally of America for decades. Turkey is a NATO country. Once, the government of Ankara has used a more restrained approach when dealing with ISIS. Turkey wants the government of President Bashar al-Assad to be gone, but there is another caveat. Turkey wants to stop Kurdish nationalists. Turkey has been caught (by many reports and sources) covertly aiding ISIS too. The Jerusalem Post reported that an ISIS fighter said that Turkey funds the terrorist group. According to a leading Turkish newspaper (Today’s Zaman), Turkish nurses are sick of providing free medical in Turkish hospitals. The Tunisian oil smuggler Abu Sayyaf smuggled oil from Syria’s eastern oil fields. Black market oil became the main driver of ISIS revenues and Turkish buyers were its main clients. We know that Turkey has overtly supported jihadi groups like Ahrar al-Sham (which believes in much of al-Qaeda’s ideology) and Jabhat al-Nusra.  Even Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon said that Israel has given aid to Syrian rebels.  Overtly, the Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has worked with President Barack Obama now to secure the Turkish-Syrian border and fight ISIS. Now, the United States uses Turkish air bases at Incirlik and Diyarbakir, so the U.S. can launch aerial attacks in IS positions in Syria and Iraq. There are predator drones being launched from the Incirlik air base.  According to the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet Daily News, the deal, treated by the Turkish side as a “secret cabinet decree,” also includes plans for a “buffer zone” in northern Syria, something Ankara has long demanded as a means of escalating the war for regime change in Syria. Erdogan has a notoriously authoritarian government. There are plenty of stories about demonstrators being arrested and experiencing tear gas by the police in Turkey. He has used raids via his army against ISIS. Turkey still views some Kurdish nationalist groups as terrorists. The Kurdish town of Suruç experienced a suicide attack that killed at least 32 people. Suruç lied on the Turkish side of the Turkey-Syrian border from the city of Kobanê. The bombing, which also injured more than 100, was reportedly carried out by the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq (ISIS) against SGDF activists who were preparing to cross the border to help with the reconstruction of Kobanê. The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) is led by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Ozan Tekin is a member of the Revolutionary Socialist Workers Party (DSIP), which is affiliated with the International Socialist Tendency.  There are working class activists in Turkey who are fighting for real change in that nation. The U.S. has aided Kurdish groups in Iraq, which Turkey disagrees with. The U.S. is an ally of Saudi Arabia, but as the Daily Beast has report, ISIS is funded by wealthy donors from Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. So, Gulf States are funding ISIS as a counterweight against the Sunni hegemony of Syria and Iran. These Gulf States also fund the Syrian branch of Al-Qaeda called the Al Nusrah Front and other Islamic groups fighting on the ground in Syria. So, the U.S., Turkey, and Israel have funded Syrian rebels in order for Syria to be a puppet client state of the West.

False flag operations have existed throughout human history. They are covert operations that have been created in a way that these operations appear as though that they are being carried out by groups, entities or nations other than those who actually planned and executed by them. These operations have occurred during peace time and during war time. They have been executed by civilian organizations and covert government agencies. False flag operations readily use deception, so these actions are blamed not by the perpetrators of them (but among other people). There are many documented false flag attacks throughout human history. There was the Mukden Incident. This was when Japanese troops set off a small explosion on a train track in 1931 and blamed it on China in order to justify an invasion of Manchuria. The Tokyo International Military Tribunal found: “Several of the participators in the plan, including Hashimoto [a high-ranking Japanese army officer], have on various occasions admitted their part in the plot and have stated that the object of the ‘Incident’ was to afford an excuse for the occupation of Manchuria by the Kwantung Army ….” A major with the Nazi SS admitted at the Nuremberg trials that under orders from the chief of the Gestapo, he and some other Nazi operatives faked attacks on their own people and resources which they blamed on the Polish people in order for the Nazis to justify the invasion of Poland. This was called Operation Gleweitz.  Israel admits that in 1954, an Israeli terrorist cell operating in Egypt planted bombs in several buildings, including U.S. diplomatic facilities, then left behind “evidence” implicating the Arabs as the culprits (one of the bombs detonated prematurely, allowing the Egyptians to identify the bombers, and several of the Israelis later confessed). The CIA was involved in Operation Ajax. In this operation, the CIA admitted that it hired Iranians in the 1950′s to pose as Communists and stage bombings in Iran in order to turn the country against its democratically-elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mossedegh. Operation Ajax (which involved British Intelligence too) caused the Shah to rule Iran as a dictatorship for decades until 1979. The Turkish Prime Minister admitted that the Turkish government carried out the 1955 bombing on a Turkish consulate in Greece – also damaging the nearby birthplace of the founder of modern Turkey – and blamed it on Greece, for the purpose of inciting and justifying anti-Greek violence. Operation Gladio was about NATO (using help of the Pentagon and the CIA) to carry out terror bombings in Italy and other European nations during the mid to late 20th century as a way for people to blame the communists and rally governments in Europe to fight against communists. This has been admitted by the former Italian Prime Minister, an Italian judge, and the former head of Italian counterintelligence. Operation Northwoods is one of the most notorious proposed false flag operations. It was when U.S. government documents recently declassified showed that in 1962, the American Joints Chiefs of Staff signed off on a plan to blow up AMERICAN airplanes (using an elaborate plan involving the switching of airplanes), and also to commit terrorist acts on American soil, and then to blame it on the Cubans in order to justify an invasion of Cuba. There is an ABC news report showing this information, there are the official documents mentioning this plan, and there is an interview with the former Washington Investigative Producer for ABC’s World News Tonight with Peter Jennings confirming the existence of Operation Northwoods too.

There was the great Atlanta Fire of 1917. It happened after noon on May 21, 1917 in the Old Fourth Ward of Atlanta. No one knows conclusively how the fire started, but it was fueled by hot temperatures and strong winds that propelled the fire. The fire burned for almost 10 hours. It destroyed 300 acres of land. 1,900 structures were displaced. Over 10,000 people were displayed. There was $5 million dollars in damages (or $92 million today when adjusted for inflation). Before the fire, the day was runny and warm. The first small fire was at Candler Warehouse across the tracks from West End at 11:39 AM; at 11:43 a fire seven blocks north that destroyed three houses; and at 12:15, south of the Georgia Railroad from the big fire, ten homes were destroyed before being extinguished. At 12:46 a call came from a small warehouse just north of Decatur Street between Fort and Hilliard. The crew sent to inspect it found a stack of burning mattresses, but had no firefighting equipment with them. If the fire department had not been spread across so many different parts of the city already, and the fire would have been put out there. Yet, by the time reinforcements arrived, it was quickly leaping north. The fire spread quickly. It went up to Edgewood Avenue and from there into the main residential areas of Sweet Auburn where little was spared. There were the area between Decatur and Edgewood filled with shanties and lean-tos. This caused the fire to be fueled more. Another corridor was burned due north between Jackson (or Parkway and Charles Allen today) and Boulevard. The fire spared John Wesley Dobbs’ block. Many homes were burned. Firefighters in 4:00 in the afternoon used dynamite to destroy many homes (along Pine, Boulevard, and finally Ponce de Leon) as a way to stall the fire. By nightfall the fire crossed Ponce de Leon. While reduced, it headed north through the recently built-out neighborhood along St. Charles, Vedado Way and Greenwood Avenue. It finally stopped at 10 PM, more than 1 mile (1.6 km) north of where it began. In 11 hours, 22,000,000 US gallons (83,000,000 l; 18,000,000 imp gal) of water were pumped to put out the fire. Additional fire trucks had been sent from nine Georgia towns (as far away as Macon and Augusta), as well as from Chattanooga and Knoxville in Tennessee. 1,938 buildings were destroyed over 300 acres (1.2 km2) spanning 73 city blocks. Fires smoldered for the rest of the week. Wood shingles were burned which made up more than 85% of the destroyed buildings. So, the city of Atlanta passed an ordinance banning wood shingles to be used for new construction. By 1931, all older buildings had replaced the wood shingles. Only Sherman’s fire of 1864 was worst in Atlanta. Rebuilding was sporadic. There were large swaths of land kept open for years. There were commercial strips and apartments buildings being built. Also, low income housing developments were built in the extreme southern section and the areas south of North Avenue. Some 50 acres (200,000 m2) around Boulevard and Highland were eventually developed as the campus for Atlanta Medical Center. Except for where single family homes were quickly rebuilt north of Ponce de Leon, the character of this large area of Atlanta was changed forever.

The black liberation struggle is global. There are many Afro-Colombians who are fighting for justice. There is the ACSN or the Afro-Colombian Solidarity Network, who work in support of Afro-Colombian communities. There is the majority Afro-Colombian Port Workers Union (Unión Portuaria) who are fighting for economic rights. Therefore, we must show solidarity with our Brothers and Sisters in Colombia. Natural hair is gorgeous and there is nothing wrong with Sisters showing natural hair. Also, I do realize that just because a Sister uses hair extensions or weaves doesn't mean that she should be stereotyped or called out of her name. I read where Al Jazeera said that many Afro-Colombian human beings face racist violence. Now, I did just one google search of Afro-Colombians and I found many images of them wearing natural hair. There should be more improvements on Colombia on many fronts, but we (who are African Americans) shouldn’t have a superiority complex and think that other people of the African Diaspora must be made in our image. We have to allow cultural diversity in the African Diaspora. I’m sorry that Shahida Muhammad had difficulty in finding natural hair products in Colombia. I wish the absolute best for the Sister. Also, we have work to do and we have to continue to work in this struggle for liberation. What an inspirational story of Gigi. Gigi is a blessed, young human being. Her eloquence and her courageous mindset will inspire tons of people globally. She has used her life as a way for her to show her gift of love and her great acuity is excellent. What we need more in the world is the great character found in glorious people like Gigi Cunningham. Yes, she is a beautiful black teenager. I wish the best for her and her modeling career. Her story is a story where one strong human being is using positive energy in helping others. That is why we are here on this Earth. We are meant to be a blessing to others. Her advice is definitely true and golden. Bless her.
